Meet The Board

Meet Richard “Dick” Saunders

Dick Saunders is the founder of Saunders Construction, which he launched in Denver in 1972. He ran the company as CEO for three decades, and was Chairman of the Board until 2011. Dick entered the construction business in 1959, and worked in various roles before he tapped into his entrepreneurial spirit and started Saunders Construction.

Patrick has worked for Saunders for nearly 20 years, and Dick has been a mentor and an ardent supporter of Patrick’s mission and Teach Men to Fish. They have become good friends and have regular meetings. Not only has Dick donated countless equipment and supplies to TMTF, but he has given Patrick the opportunity to spend 3 months per year on site in Uganda to continue to teach the apprentices construction skills.

Dick has also been a generous donor every year for 10 years to help the Maternity Center come to completion and to help get the Mityana Community Health Center through Phase 2 completion. His belief and dedication and financial commitment to TMTF has been unwavering and admirable.
